Nintendo announced a partnership with Universal last year and earlier this year in March it was confirmed that the Universal Studios Japan in Osaka is going to host attractions based on Nintendo properties. An exciting announcement has been made today, exciting for Nintendo fans and those who like to visit theme parks. Nintendo attractions at Universal parks in Hollywood and Orlando have been confirmed today.
A short video has been posted online by Nintendo today confirming that Nintendo-themed attractions are coming to the Universal Orlando Resort and the Universal Studios Hollywood resort.
This announcement lacks major details so it’s unclear right now what these attractions are going to be. Nintendo has only said that they will be “expansive, immersive, and interactive. They will be highly themed and authentic environments filled with multiple attractions, shops, and restaurants.”
Nintendo has said that creative work on these attractions is underway but doesn’t confirm how long it will take for the first attraction to go live. It expects them to “open separately over the next several years.” Building theme park attractions is no easy feat after all so naturally, it’s going to take a few years before we see the result of this partnership between Nintendo and Universal Stateside.
