Back in September, Nintendo kind of made a surprise announcement when they revealed the NES Classic. This is basically a miniaturized version of the original NES that came with a fixed amount of classic retro games that was aimed more at gamers who wanted to relive nostalgia. For gamers looking to get their hands on it, you’ll be pleased to learn that it will be available today.
As per Nintendo’s earlier announcement, the NES Classic is set for a release on the 11th of November which is today. If you’d like to get your hands on it, orders are expected to begin via Amazon’s website starting today at 2PM PT or 5PM ET. Amazon has also reportedly told customers that they will have very limited quantities, so you’ll want to hurry.
In an email obtained by CNET, it reads, “Demand is expected to be very high, and there’s no guarantee that it will remain in stock for long. We will make similar announcements when additional inventory becomes available.” The console is priced at $60 and that’s actually not too bad a price to pay to re-live the good old days.
Like we said, the games on the console are pretty much set in stone and according to Nintendo, there will not be any updates where new titles are added, so you’ll want to make sure that you’re OK with that before making the purchase.
