NVIDIA released the latest Game Ready 375.86 drivers yesterday and it appears that something is wrong with them. Many users are reporting that after they updated the drivers, they have been noticing issues with the video memory speeds on some NVIDIA graphic cards. The company’s Pascal-based cards appear to be hit the hardest by these issues.
The company has acknowledged that its latest drivers are causing video memory speed issues. Its customer care team has taken to the official forums to provide information about some of the potential issues that users might face. One representative revealed in a thread that some Pascal-based cards like the GTX 1080, 1070, and 1060 have their video memories stuck at 810Mhz since the latest drivers were released yesterday.
This is causing issues for players in games like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1. They are experiencing jittery and flickering menus. That’s ironic considering that NVIDIA said these drivers will provide them with the “optimal experience for Tom Clancy’s The Division Survival DLC, Battlefield 1, Steep: Open Beta, and Civilization VI.”
Those who haven’t updated their drivers yet will be better off by not updating until NVIDIA fixes the issue and sends out another batch which hopefully eliminates all these issues. The company is yet to reveal how long that’s going to take, but I guess it won’t be too long before these video memory speed issues are put to bed once and for all.
