There was some speculation recently that HTC is thinking about bowing out of the smartphone market but the company has already rubbished those rumors. To show that it’s fully committed to competing in the highly competitive smartphone market, HTC today released another entry-level smartphone called the Desire 650. It’s not a flagship by any stretch of the imagination and the specs are nothing to write home about but it does offer a couple of nice features.
HTC Desire 650 is powered by a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that can be externally expanded using a microSD card.
It also features a 13 megapixel f/2.2 rear camera as well as a 5 megapixel f/2.8 shooter on the front. Both cameras are capable of recording video in full 1080p HD with HDR support.
One of the highlights of this handset is the BoomSound audio and Hi-Resolution audio certification. Other than that, the handset’s 5 inch 720p display leaves much to be desired.
HTC Desire 650 has a 2,200mAh battery that keeps the lights on, it also has support for 4G LTE. Powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the company has only launched this handset in Taiwan at this point in time and it’s unclear if and when it’s going to make its way to other markets across the globe.
