The recently launched Fujifilm X-T2 and X-Pro2 represent the highest end cameras of Fujifilm’s X-series. However if you’d rather not spend a couple of thousand investing in those systems, not to worry because it seems that the company could be getting ready to launch two more cameras that might be more budget-friendly.
According to a recent registration in China spotted by Nokishita (via Photo Rumors), it looks like two camera models were registered: the FF160006 (MIIT ID 2016DJ7088) and the FF160005 (MIIT ID 2016DJ7034). While the model numbers don’t really tell us anything, it has been speculated that this could be for the X100F and the X-T20.
The X100F is presumably the successor to the X100T compact camera, a camera which has received pretty high accolades as far as compacts are concerned. As for the X-T20, it will be the successor to the X-T10 that was launched last year, a slightly more affordable take on the X-T1/X-T2 camera systems.
No word on when either camera will be launched, but CES is usually a pretty good space to watch for camera announcements. Alternatively CP+ will be kicking off in February and given that this is a camera/photography-related event, it is possible an announcement could be made there as well. Either way do check back with us in the coming weeks/months for the details.
