Sony Unveils A Final Fantasy XV Themed Walkman

So remember a couple of weeks ago the folks at Audi unveiled a Final Fantasy XV themed Audi R8? Given that the R8 is featured in the game, it makes sense, although exactly how many fans will be able to afford the car (which is said to cost around $500,000) is probably pretty low. However there is some good news.

The good news is that if you can’t afford the car but still want something Final Fantasy themed, you’ll be pleased to learn that Sony has taken the wraps off a Walkman with Final Fantasy elements. Basically this is a Sony A-Series Walkman with some Final Fantasy XV designs on the back, but other than that it is more or less the same device as before.

It will come in a fancy box/packaging and there will also be some special icons in the Walkman’s software, but like we said it’s still the same device and will retail for about 33,880 yen, which is about $300 or so after conversion for the 16GB model. In addition to the Walkman, Sony also unveiled MDR-100A headphones a hear.go SRS-HG1 Bluetooth speaker that is also themed around the game.

We suppose you really have to be a fan if you wouldn’t mind getting these for yourself. Note that as it stands, these special edition products are only available for the Japanese market and there is no word on whether it will find its way stateside.
