According to a recent report, it was revealed that mobile internet usage had for the first time ever, narrowly edged out internet usage from desktops. This seems to confirm that mobile is indeed the way of the future, and if you wanted more proof, Facebook’s latest financial results seem to have proven it.
Based on the financial results of Facebook, it seems that the social network for the first time ever has recorded more than 1 billion mobile daily active users. “Mobile DAUs were 1.09 billion on average for September 2016, an increase of 22% year-over-year.” This means that the number of users accessing Facebook on their phones on a daily basis is over 1 billion.
As for Facebook’s regular daily active users, that number is coming in at 1.18 billion, which is actually not that much of an increase from last year, but we guess it’s good that at the very least they are still maintaining it. The monthly active users come in at 1.79 billion, while monthly mobile active users are at 1.66 billion.
Like we said, this clearly demonstrates that mobile is indeed our future and it isn’t surprising that companies like Facebook and Google are starting to prioritize their mobile apps and services over that of the desktop.
