With all the praises that Ubisoft has been singing about the Nintendo Switch, it’s safe to say that the company probably has some pretty big plans for the upcoming console. The good news is that Ubisoft isn’t alone because it seems that EA has recently teased that the company has a big game planned for the Switch as well.
Speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen was quoted as saying, “We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games. We’re excited for Nintendo.” Now EA has many big titles under its belt, so it could be just about anything.
For example the Battlefield franchise is one of them, along with Titanfall and Mass Effect, and let’s not forget the various sporting games under its EA Sports label. Assuming it’s a title from any of those franchises, we’re pretty sure that many gamers would be chuffed about it. However despite the tease of a big title, Jorgensen seems to be a little apprehensive about the console’s potential.
“It’s an interesting device. But I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be. Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?” We suppose those are valid questions, but we’ll just have to wait and see how the market reacts to it. The Nintendo Switch is expected to be released in March 2017, and more details will be shared on the 12th of January, 2017.
