Blizzard’s eSports ambitions are pretty well-known. The company has released several games in the past and recently that have all been rather competitive. Now if you might recall, last year Blizzard launched the Heroes of the Dorm tournament, and it looks like the documentary about the tournament has since been released.
Dubbed “A New Hero”, this hour-long documentary gives us a look at the teams who competed in the tournament. According to Blizzard, “A New Hero is an intimate look at the architects, observers and, yes, heroes of esports as they unite for Heroes of the Dorm, the premier collegiate esports tournament in the United States. The all-out effort to stage a national tournament for Blizzard Entertainment’s Heroes of the Storm is only exceeded by the passion and perseverance of the competitors who know the future of esports is already in their hands.”
Like we said, Blizzard has huge eSports ambitions and Heroes of the Storm is one of the games that they plan to use. However recently Blizzard also announced the Overwatch League, a professional league for Overwatch gamers that they’re hoping will become the careers of professional gamers.
