If you bought your iMac in between December 2012 and July 2014, you might have been afflicted by a problem in which of your iMac might have issues with its hinge where it would continuously tilt forward. Customers who have been experiencing this problem have probably sent it in for repairs and were charged upwards of $100 to get it fixed.
The good news is that if you are one of those who paid Apple to get the problem fixed, you’ll be pleased to learn that Apple will now be refunding you your money, or at least that’s according to MacRumors who has obtained an updated service document sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Apple has yet to make this publicly known, unlike some of their other exchange and repair programs. We’re not sure if they do plan on letting customers know, but for now MacRumors says that Apple is recommending that affected customers get in touch with the company to request for a refund.
As for users who have yet to get their iMacs fixed, you will have to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at an Apple Store to see if your computer is eligible to be part of the repair program. The affected models seem to cover 2012-2014, but it has been noted that it seems to affect those from late 2012 to late 2013 models more. You can check out the problem for yourself in the video above.
