Launched earlier this year, the good news for students around the world is that Apple has expanded the student pricing to 25 new countries. As of today, the student pricing will now be available in countries such as Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, Finland, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to this, the pricing was available to students in the United States, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, which brings the total number of countries supporting the student pricing to 32. Of course it won’t be $5 for all the countries as it will vary depending on the local currency. For example over in France, it is priced at 5 euro.
Note that this pricing isn’t forever. Users will need to continue prove via UNiDAYS that they are a student, and those who have had accounted for 48 months will automatically be switched over to the regular price.
