Apple recently unveiled its revamped MacBook Pro models that feature many improvements, including but not limited to a multitouch Touch Bar that’s a first for its notebooks. It appears that the new notebooks have been selling well because according to a new report, Apple is “aggressive” in ordering new units from its suppliers as it expects strong sales of the new MacBook Pro to continue well into next year. It does seem possible since the company has made us all wait for a very long time for the new MacBook Pro lineup.
DigiTimes reports, citing sources in the supply chain, that Apple has aggressively been placing orders for the MacBook Pro. It says that Apple is “optimistic” about sales in the holiday quarter and that it expects the new MacBook Pro lineup to perform well next year as well.
This is contrary to initial reports which claimed that the new MacBook Pros were not selling as well as the company would have hoped. It was even reported at one point that Apple had actually delayed orders for the MacBook Pro because of low yield rates of some components. The keyboard, battery, and hinges were identified as the parts with low yield rates.
Apparently, things are looking up for the holiday season as millions of people set out to buy new stuff for themselves as well as for their family and friends. The report suggests that MacBook Pro shipments for 2016 will reach 15 million units and that Apple is likely to maintain the same pace in 2017.
