According to the tweet, it reads, “The Unlocked #HTC10 is getting Android Nougat — We’ve just passed TA testing, so you can expect a rollout to begin on Friday.” Since we are now officially in Saturday, the update should have already begun to rollout to HTC 10 owners, but as the tweet reads, it is for the unlocked version of the phone.
This means that if you own the locked version or carrier version of the HTC 10, you will not be getting the update just yet. We expect that it will probably take a little bit longer for carriers to approve the update, but in the meantime unlocked HTC 10 owners will be able to enjoy the Android 7.0 Nougat goodness before everyone else does.
We’re also not sure what this means for HTC 10 owners in other parts of the world, but we can only assume that the global rollout shouldn’t be too far behind, so do keep an eye out for it.
