Android 7.0 Rolling Out To T-Mobile’s LG G5

If you are the proud owner of the LG G5 from T-Mobile, you’ll be pleased to learn that the carrier has begun rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the handset via OTA. The update weighs in around 1.2GB and will also include the November 1 security patch, so clearly you’ll want to be connected to a power source and connected to WiFi.

We suppose you could take the risk of using your mobile data but 1.2GB will blow through your allowance pretty quickly. With the update, the LG G5 should be getting quite a few new features such as split-screen mode, improvements to the Doze feature, and a bunch of other tweaks that the LG V20 has because the handset was launched with Android 7.0 preinstalled.

We should point out that there will be certain features of Android 7.0 that you will not get that Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners will. This is because Google has chosen to given their own phones certain exclusive features, which includes Google Assistant, the Pixel Launcher, Pixel Camera, and fingerprint swipe gestures, just to name a few.

In any case regardless of whether those are must-have features, the update to Android 7.0 Nougat should make your phone feel like brand new again, so either way it is still a much-welcome update that you’ll want to keep an eye out for.
