Back in October, Apple announced that the AirPods headphones announced alongside the new iPhones would be delayed. No new shipping date was provided, which led to speculation that we could only see the headphones launched in 2017. There was claims that there could be something wrong with the manufacturing process, hence the delay.
However a couple of days ago, a new report surfaced that claimed that the AirPods would be seeing a release this month. To be more specific, it would be released on the 18th of November, at least that’s according to a retailer in Europe. Now it seems that might no longer be the case.
According to a report from Barclay Research analysts, they are claiming that the AirPods will only be available in December, which if true isn’t so bad since it’s still within 2016. Apparently Apple has been having a hard time managing channel inventory as the company has been reportedly trying to get batch discounts so as to keep their component costs low.
The report claims that because of this, Apple’s AirPods will be skipping the Black Friday deals and will probably only see a release late in December, but hopefully in time for the holidays.
