Some of the biggest companies in the business like Samsung and LG have been demonstrating their bendable displays for some time now but we’ve yet to see this technology trickle down into mass market devices. There have been a lot of rumors about Samsung coming out with a bendable smartphone or tablet next year and it appears that one of China’s fastest-growing companies has similar ambitions. Xiaomi appears to have developed a bendable display of its own.
A short video appeared online recently which shows that this display can actually respond to touch even when it’s being bent. The company itself has revealed no information about this display as yet so it’s unclear at this point in time what it’s plans are with respect to this technology.
It’s too soon to say if and when Xiaomi might launch a device which features its bendable display. If it has been able to create prototypes of bendable displays then there’s nothing stopping the company from pursuing it further.
If recent reports are believed, devices with bendable displays will be all the rage in the next few years and Xiaomi will certainly want to be ready when that time comes. As far as Samsung is concerned, reports suggest that at least two bendable devices might be launched by the Korean giant next year. Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything officially about these devices as yet.
