We’ve known for a while now that Hugh Jackman will be returning to reprise his role as Wolverine for one final time. The new movie that’s in the pipeline is commonly referred to as Wolverine 3 even though that was never confirmed as the official title. The star himself confirmed the official moniker of his next movie today. Wolverine 3 is going to be simply called Logan. Jackman tweeted an image of a new poster which confirms that Logan is the official moniker of this upcoming movie.
In an interview with ET Online, Jackman revealed that shooting has finished and that Logan has entered post-production. “There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so,” which means we can keep our fingers crossed for a teaser or trailer to be released in the very near future.
It has already been confirmed that the next Wolverine movie is going to be a bit different from its predecessors as it carries an R rating. It’s going to be violent and “kind of like a western in its tone,” said Wolverine himself.
Jackman last reprised his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse released earlier this year. His final outing as Wolverine will be in Logan, as much as it pains X-Men fans to see him hang up his claws for good.
