The company has recently taken the wraps off two new SSDs: the WD Blue and the WD Green. According to Western Digital, these are the first two WD-branded SATA client SSDs. Starting with the WD Blue, the company claims that these SSDs are ideal for those who work with a lot of multitasking and resource-heavy applications. They are available in 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB sizes, with up to 545MB/s and 525MB/s sequential read and write speeds, and endurance up to 400 TBW and is priced starting at $79 and going up to $299.
As for the WD Greens, the company claims that these are better choices for everyday use and will be available in 120GB and 240GB sizes. As far as performance is concerned, they feature sequential read and write times of up to 540MB/s and 405MB/s and endurance up to 80TBW. They are also expected to be made available later this quarter, but no word on pricing for now.
