So we know that there is an Uncharted movie in the works, although the state of the movie was previously unknown. In 2015 it was reported that the movie’s release was pushed to 2017, but a report in 2016 suggested that maybe we shouldn’t hold our breaths. The good news is that it looks like things are back on track.
According to a report from Deadline, it has been revealed that the Uncharted movie has found its director in Shawn Levy. If you’re wondering why the name sounds familiar, it is because Levy was responsible for being both the executive producer and director of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things.
As for its release, it has yet to be confirmed but apparently the movie has been fast-tracked so hopefully we will see it in 2018 since a 2017 release does seem to be very unlikely, unless a rushed job is what Sony is after. What is also unclear is who will be playing what role in the movie. As it stands save for the director, the other cast members, such as who will be taking up of Nathan Drake, is unknown, although we’re sure that fans of the franchise are already imagining the perfect cast for the movie.
