Tile is a company that some of you guys have heard of. Over the years, the company has released various Bluetooth trackers that are shaped like, well, tiles, hence the name. The idea is that these trackers are small and relatively inconspicuous where you can attach it to a manner of objects without issue.
The company has been at work making their trackers smaller and thinner, like the Tile Slim that was announced in August. However it looks like they’re back with another variation in the form of the Tile Mate. This version isn’t actually slimmer than the Tile Slim, but it is 25% smaller than the original Tile and it also comes with a hole that lets you clip it onto keyrings, making it ideal for tracking objects like your keys.
It is also more affordable at $25 compared to the $30 Tile Slim, but we guess since both feature different designs, it really depends on what you need it for. That being said, the Tile Mate works pretty much the same way as the other Tile trackers. It will sync with an app on your smartphone and can track your devices via Bluetooth.
However it will also go beyond Bluetooth by taking advantage of a network of Tile users so that you can track devices that are beyond the range of Bluetooth, and with 6 million units sold in over 200 countries around the world, safe to say that its network is fairly extensive. If you’re interested in getting your hands on the device, hit up Tile’s website for the details.
