Surface Studio Shipment Estimates Slip To ‘Early 2017’

Earlier this week, Microsoft unveiled its much-rumored Surface-branded all-in-one PC called Surface Studio. It’s a beautiful PC and even though it’s expensive, you can be sure that quite a lot of people will be picking one up as it’s particularly geared towards artists and designers. Microsoft said that it would only ship the new PC in “limited quantities” at launch and those who didn’t place a pre-order early will now find that shipment estimates for new orders have slipped into “early 2017.”

Customers who are now placing new pre-orders for the Surface Studio are being told to not expect shipments before “early 2017.” Microsoft hasn’t confirmed as yet what the delay will look like in actual days and weeks so it’s anybody’s guess right now.

Microsoft had said during the launch event that the Surface Studio is going to be released on December 15th for pre-order customers. Those who were able to get their pre-orders in early just might receive their units on the aforementioned date but anyone placing a pre-order right now is going to have to wait until early next year.

Microsoft Surface Studio starts at $2,999 for the base model which includes a Core i5 processor with 8GB RAM and 1TB of storage. All pre-order customers receive the new Surface Dial input accessory for free which itself is a $99.99 value.
