Earlier this year it was confirmed that Ben Affleck would be getting his own solo Batman movie. However many are probably wondering when we will see the movie, especially with other DC movies that are in the works, such as Justice League that will be released in 2017. While a date has yet to be set, filming could begin in 2017.
In an interview with Variety, veteran actor Jeremy Irons (who plays Alfred in the Batman movie) revealed that filming could begin in the summer of 2017. When asked about Affleck’s role in Justice League, Irons revealed that Affleck’s role as Batman would be more or less similar to that of Batman v Superman, and in the process also revealed the movie’s filming date.
“Similar, but then, of course, Ben’s going to make a Batman film next summer. He promises me there’s going to be a bit more of Alfred in that. In the “Justice League” we have seven major lead characters and I’m the butler to one of them. It’s clear I will not be dominating that film.”
Note that nothing official has been announced yet so do take it with a grain of salt, but with Irons being part of the Batman movie, it is possible that he would be privy to some of its details like a filming schedule. In the meantime Time Warner’s CEO recently suggested that the movie’s release could be 1.5 years out, but like we said, until it’s all been made official, these dates are obviously subject to change so maybe don’t get your hopes up just yet.
