Skyrim Special Edition Runs At 1080p/30fps On PS4 & Xbox One

skyrim_special_editionIf you’ve ever played a game on a crappy computer that barely meets the minimum hardware requirements, then you know that its experience isn’t ideal. This is because you’ll have to play at the minimum settings, which also means that the gameplay isn’t as smooth or as beautiful as it could be.

For gamers wondering about Skyrim Special Edition, you’ll be pleased to learn that the folks at Digital Foundry have recently published a report on some of specs of the game, namely its resolution and framerates that it runs at. According to the report, the game will run at 1080p and 30fps for both the PS4 and Xbox One.

This is great news especially when you consider that in the past, Xbox One titles did not necessarily run on par with its PS4 counterpart, but in this case it looks like it does. Digital Foundry believes that this is due to the same temporal anti-aliasing technology that was also used on the console version of Fallout 4.

What this means is that if you’re thinking of which version to get, it probably does not matter since both platforms look the same. Instead your decision will probably go in the long-term of what kind of games you plan to play in the future, and whether or not it will be platform exclusive, and so on.
