According to the lawsuit in Korea, consumers are claiming that they were inconvenienced as they were forced to visit the store multiple times in order to get their batteries checked and replaced if it was warranted. They also claimed to have suffered anxiety over whether or not it was safe to keep using their device, and they are also seeking 300,000 won in damages per customer.
The lawsuit has yet to be filed but it is expected to be done on the 24th of October. These complaints are different from the ones in the US, in which customers were basically complaining of Samsung’s handling of the situation and how they did not have replacement units ready and that customers had to wait.
During the waiting process, customers were left without a phone despite the fact that they had to keep paying their contract with their carrier. It is unclear if these lawsuits will be ruled in Samsung’s favor, but given how much the recall is already costing the company, losing these lawsuits will no doubt result in a huge financial hit.
