However is it so bad that Samsung should drop the Note brand completely? Speaking to The Korea Herald (via SamMobile), Kim Duk-jin, the vice chief of Korea Insight Institute, said that “Samsung [should] drop the Note brand as consumers may still find it dangerous even when the new Note 8 comes out.”
The Korea Insight Institute went on to prove that the Note brand has since been regarded with negativity. According to Konan Technology, a company that analyzes social network services, found that negative perception of the Note 7 rose to 53% up to 34%, and that positive perception dropped to 42% from 62%.
It would be quite a pity if Samsung were to go through with this, especially when you consider that the first Note phone kind of kicked off the demand for phones with large displays (this was when the iPhone’s 3.5-inch was still considered acceptable). Will Samsung actually go through with this? We suppose only time will tell, but there is no doubt that Samsung will want customers to forget this incident moving forward.
