Google’s new Pixel smartphones are exclusive to Verizon in the United States. No other carrier in the country is selling the handsets directly but T-Mobile launched a new promotion recently for Pixel customers looking to purchase Google’s latest phone in a bid to steal customers from Verizon. Big Red has now hit back with its own promotion.
T-Mobile may not be selling the Pixel and Pixel XL directly but it’s offering $325 in bill credits to customers who purchase the handset directly from Google unlocked and off-contact and then sign up for Magenta in order to receive the bill credits. This effectively provides them with a 50 percent discount on one of the hottest devices on the market right now.
Verizon won’t surely let T-Mobile steal its thunder with the Pixel. Google’s new flagship is now part of the carrier’s trade-in program. Customers can have their existing handsets appraised and receive a trade-in value, the most users can get for old devices is up to $300.
Once they have agreed to the trade-in value, new customers will receive their new Pixel device immediately while the VZW electronic gift card of the trade-in value is going to arrive within two weeks. Existing Verizon customers will get the trade-in value back in account credit within 1-2 billing cycles.
