A little over a week ago Blizzard announced that the next major patch World of Warcraft would be released on the 25th of October. In case you haven’t fired up the game or if you haven’t been keeping track, you’ll be pleased to learn that Patch 7.1 for World of Warcraft is now live and available to gamers.
While the patch will introduce the usual host of changes to the game such as bug fixes and class balances, one of the notable introductions in the patch is a new epic 5-man dungeon that comes in the form of Karazhan. For veteran World of Warcraft gamers, Karazhan is known more of a raid from the Burning Crusade expansion, but in Legion, Blizzard decided to revisit Karazhan and reintroduce it as a 5-man epic dungeon.
The goal of the Return to Karazhan is for Blizzard to bring back epic dungeons akin to vanilla World of Warcraft dungeons such as Blackrock Depths. Such dungeons were long and took hours to complete, versus the more modern dungeons which can be cleared in under an hour, or even less if you go with skilled players.
The original Karazhan raid will not be affected by this patch, meaning that if you’re so inclined you are more than welcome to revisit the raid again, or you can opt for the 5-man dungeon which is expected to be just as challenging, if not more so. In the meantime for more details about the patch, check out the survival guide Blizzard has posted in the video above.
