[CEATEC 2016] How many photos have you see of people where they’ve tried to “hold up” the Leaning Tower of Pisa? Or how many photos have you seen of people taken below the Eiffel Tower? Too many? We suppose sometimes it can get pretty repetitive, but if you’re looking for interesting angles for selfies, Panasonic has you covered.
Panasonic has revealed at CEATEC 2016 a new service called PaN. This is a shared camera service where users will be able to access cameras placed at various locations to help them take a selfie or group photo. As these cameras are installed, it means that they can be placed in more interesting/strategic locations, so you’ll be able to get angles from heights you normally wouldn’t.
This service was created in partnership with NTT where the photos taken will then be sent to the cloud and you will be able to access it. From what we can tell in the video below, users will be required to have some kind of card which they scan. This card supposedly identifies you and your account so that the photos taken will be sent directly to the cloud account linked with the card.
We’re not sure how we feel about our photos being so public, but it is an interesting idea and with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coming up in the next few years, this could prove to be a useful tourism feature to have.
