So Samsung is currently accepting returns and are also giving refunds for customers who bought the Galaxy Note 7. This makes perfect sense especially when you consider that the handsets are potentially dangerous. However it seems that Samsung isn’t extending the same courtesy to customers of the Gear VR.
Now there is nothing wrong with the Gear VR. However some customers have bought the headset because they were planning on using it together with their new Note 7, but following the recall of the Note 7, it seems that some customers don’t have use for the Gear VR anymore are want a refund, but according to reports, Samsung is refusing to refund customers on that front.
According to the reports, apparently Samsung claims that because the Gear VR can also be used with other handsets besides the Note 7 that they won’t refund it. This is despite the fact that customers bought the Gear VR specifically for use with the Note 7, and that these customers also have no intention of using Samsung’s other phones.
To be fair, the Gear VR is a separate product and one that works perfectly fine, which means that Samsung is not obligated to refund, but what do you guys think? Should Samsung treat Note 7 and Gear VR purchases as a single purchase? Or do you think that they are within their rights to refuse refunds?
