Nintendo Will Only Share More Switch Information In 2017

nintendo-switchSo the Nintendo Switch is official, but unfortunately apart from what the console looks like and what kind of games could arrive for the device, not much else is known. Everything that we do know is based on the preview trailer, which is odd since we thought Nintendo would be sharing more details ahead of the console’s release in 2017.

Unfortunately for a very odd reason, Nintendo is refusing to do that. According to The Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki, he revealed that Nintendo will not be sharing any other information like games, hardware specs, or features like region-locking for the rest of the year. This means that if you wanted to make an informed decision as to whether or not you should purchase the Switch, you’ll have to wait until 2017 to find out.

Now the Switch’s reveal did make gamers rather excited as it did show off the capabilities of the console, but it also left gamers with even more questions, such as does the Switch have touchscreen capabilities? What kind of performance are we looking at? Will it be comparable to the competition or are we looking at some kind of enhanced NVIDIA SHIELD tablet?

Even Bethesda can’t confirm if Skyrim will be one of the console’s playable games. We’re not sure why Nintendo is remaining mum on the console or why they are waiting until 2017 to share more details. Could it be that they’re looking to gauge the public’s reaction while making tweaks and changes behind the scenes? We guess we’ll just have to wait to find out.
