Microsoft has made some very interesting announcements at its event in New York City today. We’ve seen the company announce the next major Windows 10 update as well as the much-rumored all-in-one PC called Surface Studio. Microsoft has also announced an upgraded Surface Book at the event, it’s now more powerful and power efficient than ever before.
According to Microsoft, the new Surface Book notebook provides double the graphics performance of its predecessor and provides 30 percent more battery life.
The company says that the new notebook is actually the most powerful version of the Surface Book that it has ever made. It’s powered by the latest Intel Core i7 processors and features a redesigned thermal system with an extra fan to ensure that those processors can provide peak performance without overheating.
The notebook is capable of doing all this and more while promising 16 hours of battery life on a single charge. Those who are interested in purchasing one can place pre-orders starting today on Microsoft’s online store. The $2,399 Surface Book is going to start shipping next month.
Other than these improvements, it’s pretty much the same Surface Book notebook that so many customers already know and love. This new one is certainly going to appeal to those who want the absolute best performance without having to compromise portability.
