So late last month we heard the rumors that Apple was planning on launching the new MacBook Pro in the later part of October. Given that we’re almost two-thirds into October and there is still no invite, we’re sure many are wondering if the rumors are true. The good news is that it looks like they might still come true.
According to a report from Japanese website Mac Otakara (via MacRumors), they claim that they have heard from a “reliable Chinese supplier” who claims that Apple is still on track to make an announcement later this month, and that we can look forward to the new MacBook Pros as well as a refresh of the 13-inch MacBook Air. Apparently the 11-inch MacBook Air will not be getting any love.
By that we’re not sure if it won’t be updated entirely, or if it will see an incremental upgrade but no new exciting features. According to the report, the 13-inch MacBook Air is also said to come with USB-C ports and will also support Thunderbolt 3. The MacBook Pros are also said to come with four USB-C ports, a HDMI port, USB-A ports, and unfortunately Apple is also said to be doing away with the SD card slot, which is kind of a pity.
In any case it’s best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more concrete news to share in the coming weeks.
