You may have owned a Logitech webcam at some point in your life but these peripherals are no longer as popular as they used to be. That’s because all smartphones have cameras these days which make it extremely easy to start a video call while all notebooks and all-in-one PCs feature integrated webcams as well. Logitech isn’t out of the webcam game completely, though. It has now launched a new webcam after releasing the last one some four years ago.
The Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam is now official. It’s capable of recording video in full HD 1080p at 60 frames-per-second. The webcam also comes with a tripod for additional flexibility.
Logitech is certainly aware that people don’t really need a webcam for the express purpose of video calling these days because they can easily do that using other devices. It has geared this new product towards those who like to stream themselves playing games.
The company’s new webcam has a background replacement feature which recognizes shapes and separates players from their background so that they can easily overlay a video of themselves streaming with other broadcasting apps.
It has worked with popular game broadcast company XSplit to integrate the latter’s streaming and recording apps with this webcam. Customers who pick up the C922 Pro Stream Webcam will receive a free three month XSplit Premium license for Windows so they can start streaming and recording gameplay with “professional-grade tools.”
The C922 Pro Stream Webcam from Logitech is now available for purchase via its website for $99.99.
