It has been a while since we last saw anything major announced for the Diablo franchise, patches aside. There has been speculation that a new game could be in the works as Blizzard appears to have been hiring for a Diablo-related project, and now thanks to a video uploaded by YouTuber Rhykker, there is some speculation that a new Diablo game could be in the works.
According to Rhykker, he believes that this year’s BlizzCon could bring about some kind of Diablo news. One of his reasons is that the BlizzCon promo pack contains a four-sided die, which is also referred to as D4 in gaming circles. However it has been suggested that maybe the die could simply be stating the date of BlizzCon 2016 as the numbers seem to be misprinted.
He also points out how this year’s Diablo booth at BlizzCon is actually bigger than last year’s, indicating that maybe Blizzard might have more to show. However Rhykker also states that due to the scheduling of the events at BlizzCon, there does not appear to be a lot of time dedicated to Diablo, meaning that should there be some kind of announcement, there won’t be much time for any follow-up questions.
That being said, PC Gamer has noted that Diablo veterans David Brevik and Bill Roper have appeared at Blizzard’s offices this month, which could either be a complete coincidence or it might have to do with a new announcement. We know it sounds a bit back and forth as to whether or not there will be a new game, but either way we’ll have to wait for BlizzCon to find out. In the meantime what do you guys think?
