According to Apple’s description, “Too busy to read your favorite websites? Just Listen! These audio versions give you tons of great narrated stories. They’re perfect for getting the latest scoop when you’re driving, working out, or just feel like kicking back.” So who has Apple teamed up with for the Spoken Editions?
TechCrunch points out a number of partnerships which include Huffington Post, Reuters, Slate. .Mic, Wired, IGN, Bustle, Fusion, Gizmodo, Jezebel, Lifehacker, TIME, Skift, and Playboy. It has also been noted that there are currently over 40 Spoken Editions available, and we expect that the number of publishers and content will be expanded as time goes on.
It is interesting to note the launch of Spoken Editions, especially following the rumors that Apple is planning on launching a device similar to the Amazon Echo, except with Siri on board. Spoken Editions would make perfect sense and would be an ideal fit for such a device, don’t you think?
