By now many of you guys have heard and seen the benchmarks for Apple’s A10 Fusion which seems to be blowing away the competition. Some even claim that the A10 is so good that it is actually performing Apple’s MacBook Airs, imagine that! However how does the A10 Fusion fare against the Snapdragon 821 chipsets in the new Pixel phones?
Turns out that it doesn’t even break a sweat. According to the numbers on Geekbench 4 (via AppleInsider), it seems that Apple’s A10 Fusion chipset is outperforming the Snapdragon 821 chipsets on the Pixel phones. According to the benchmark, the phones scored a 4100 for multiple core performance, and 1580 for single core.
As for the iPhone 7, it scored 5600 for multiple core, and 3430 for single core, so as you can see, it is clearly head and shoulders above the competition. Now before some of you Android fans get upset, we should point out that benchmarks don’t always tell the entire story. For example it’s important how the phone feels when you use it. If you think it’s fast enough, then it probably doesn’t matter how it compares against other phones.
There are also other factors and features that are taken into consideration, such as iOS vs Android, the camera, pricing, and etc., so yes, while the iPhone 7 might beat the Pixel phones in processor benchmarks, it doesn’t automatically make the Pixel handsets a “bad” device.
