There are countless streaming services that you subscribe to now if you don’t want a conventional cable service. However, since Netflix doesn’t do what Sling TV can, the cost of subscribing to all of these services can quickly add up. Hulu is seeking to capitalize on this by cutting its subscription price. Those who are interested in joining Hulu can now do so for $6 per month. This promotional price will be locked in for an entire year.
Hulu offers two subscription tiers. For $8 per month users get an ad-supported version which provides access to all of the content but includes ads. The ad-free version costs $12 per month.
It has now reduced the price of the ad-supported version from $8 to $6 per month. There is a caveat here. Hulu has restricted this promotional pricing to new subscribers only which means if you’re an existing subscriber you will continue to pay $8 per month for the same service.
New subscribers who join Hulu now are promised the $6 per month subscription price for one full year after which they will pay $8 per month like everybody else. They will still have to put up with ads even after the fact.
Hulu hosts an ever-expanding library of content which includes on-demand TV shows from major networks that become available a day after they are aired. Hulu is also working on a live TV streaming service that’s going to be launched in 2017.
