Huawei is going to unveil its next flagship smartphone later this week. Over the past few days we’ve come across many leaks concerning the Huawei Mate 9 but we hadn’t seen any purported leaked images of the device itself, that changes today. A couple of pictures have leaked out of China which claim to show off the Huawei Mate 9 in gold color. There’s no way to be sure right now whether the device seen in these pictures really is Huawei’s next flagship or merely a prototype.
The handset that we see in the picture has a flat display. Huawei is expected to launch two variants of the Mate 9, one with a flat full HD display and the other with a dual-edge curved Quad HD display. This appears to be the former.
Huawei Mate 9 has also been rumored to have a dual camera from Leica and while we do see a dual camera setup on the back, there’s no Leica branding to be seen, which makes me wonder if what we see in these images is actually an early mockup of Huawei’s next flagship smartphone. That possibility can’t be ruled out at this point in time.
I’d take this leak with a grain of salt if I were you. Fortunately, Huawei’s event is scheduled for November 3rd, so we won’t have to wait for too long to find out what the Mate 9 actually looks like.
