However that will no longer be the case. Come 30th of November, HTC has announced that its Android HTC Internet web browser will be killed off. So what does this mean? Obviously HTC can’t delete the app from your phone, so basically this means that there will no longer be support for the app, and it will no longer be available for download via the Play Store.
This also means that future HTC handsets will no longer have the app bundled. That being said, there are plenty of alternatives out there in terms of mobile browsers. We have Chrome for mobile which we guess is more or less the de facto choice, although there are also browsers like Opera that comes with built-in privacy and security tools, and let’s not forget there is also Mozilla’s Firefox.
We’re not sure why HTC wants to kill off the app, but perhaps there aren’t many uses using it for HTC to warrant to keep supporting it. The app will still be usable after the 30th of November, but don’t expect any support in the future.
