In fact Homeland Security has recently issued a warning (via Phandroid) that certain Huawei devices are vulnerable to DDoS reboots if they are running a certain version of software on their phones. The devices that are vulnerable include the Huawei Mate S, P8, Honor 6, and Honor 6 Plus (you can check out the software versions on the website).
According to the warning, if your device is running on these software builds, it could be vulnerable to a DDoS reboot when attacked. However it has been noted that this only works if the user has a specific app installed, so it seems like there needs to be some kind of favorable setup before it will work, so it isn’t necessarily so that all Huawei devices that are listed above could be targeted.
In any case this is just something to keep an eye out for if you own any of the devices mentioned above.
