google_pixelIf you were to head on over to Google’s website to purchase their new Pixel phones, you will realize that in terms of retailers, you can either choose Google directly, Best Buy, or purchase it through carriers such as Verizon, which at the moment is the only one of the four major carriers to offer the handset.

However the question is, will it eventually arrive to other carriers? The answer is yes. According to a tweet by Jerry Hildenbrand of Android Central, he has revealed that the Pixel phones will also be available from AT&T in the first week of November, which essentially gives Verizon about a couple of weeks of exclusivity with the phone.

Of course AT&T has yet to confirm this and we haven’t heard anything from Google to confirm it either, so needless to say it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now. However limiting the Pixel to just Verizon doesn’t make a lot of sense as we’re sure plenty of other non-Verizon users would love to get their hands on the phone as well, so we guess it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way to other carriers.

Now there’s no word on whether its availability on other carriers also means that the Pixel phones will subject their system updates to that carrier. We don’t know why Google has given control with regard to that aspect to Verizon, but here’s hoping that it won’t be the same for other carriers as well.
