However that might no longer be the case. Developer @LlabTooFeR seems to have successfully managed to create a dump of the Pixel and Pixel XL’s system image, and the folks at XDA have also successfully managed to port the Google Camera app from that dump to work on devices running Android 7.0 Nougat. At this point in time that pretty much means Google’s Nexus devices.
According to the developers at XDA, they claim to have successfully managed to get the app running on Nexus devices like the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Now for the most part, the app still functions like Google’s camera app on Android, although there are some tweaks and changes that make it more useful for photographers who might need slightly more advanced controls.
