The good news is that Samsung wants to clear the air and nip any misinformation in the bud before it gets out of hand, so much so that according to several user reports, Samsung has reportedly sent out push messages to owners of the Galaxy S7, letting them know that their phones are safe and that their device is not affected by the explosions and that their phones are not being recalled.
The message reads, “Your Galaxy S7 is not an affected device. The Galaxy S7 is not subject to recall. You can continue to use your device normally.” For those who have been following the news we guess this is kind of obvious, but for those who haven’t, this could help clear the air and avoid any unwarranted panic.
It is unclear if the Galaxy S7 Edge is receiving similar messages but we can only assume it is. It is also unclear if other Samsung devices in general have received the message, or if it only goes out to Galaxy S7/S7 Edge owners due to the fact that both the S7 and Note 7 have the “7” in its name.
