One hasn’t been confirmed as yet, but if the team behind it were to confirm a Final Fantasy 15 PC port, the game’s co-director Hajime Tabata has said that it could take “more than a year” to make that happen. It merits mentioning here that Square Enix hasn’t completely closed the door on a Final Fantasy 15 PC port, it even said back in April that it was taking a “good, hard look” at launching this game for PC as well.
Hajime Tabata said that if a PC port were to be confirmed, the studio will “work to provide a better version” than what it has created for consoles.
“Something like this would take us more than a year. We should work to adapt the engine, which is very laborious, and from there to develop its course,” he added.
Square Enix is yet to make a formal decision on the matter. Fans of the franchise would certainly like to see this game land on PCs as well but that’s entirely up to the publisher. Perhaps it will make a decision once this game has been released for consoles.
Final Fantasy 15 was originally supposed to be released for consoles in September. It’s now slated for release on November 29th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
