The good news for PS4 gamers is that it looks like Bethesda and Sony have finally managed to hash things out because support for mods will finally be coming. According to Bethesda, “We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible. Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit available here.”
However there is a caveat and that is users cannot upload their own assets, meaning that you’re limited to whatever assets that come with the game. “You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do. By creating a Bethesda.net account, you’ll be able to browse and try mods right from within the game.”
This means that any weird or funky mods that could change the graphical style of the game is pretty much off limits since you can’t upload your own assets. This is a bit limiting but we guess it’s better than nothing. In the meantime Skyrim is expected to get support for mods on the 28th of October when the remastered version launches. Support for Fallout 4 is expected to arrive at a later date.
