Take a look at smartwatches launched by the likes of Withings and Breitling; wonder what they all have in common? Despite them being smartwatches, what they both have in common is that they have retained the traditional watch face and movement, versus smartwatches by the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola in which it feels like a smartphone being strapped to your wrist as far as its features are concerned.
This is apparently the same concept that Emporio Armani has decided to follow as the luxury fashion brand has recently announced their first series of wearables, the Emporio Armani Connected. These devices will on the surface look like a regular watch, but under the hood it will come with certain smart and connected features that will allow users to do more with it.
Its features appear to be pretty basic and it will be able to deliver notifications to your wrist as well as being able to track and monitor your daily activities, like the number of steps you take, your sleeping patterns, and so on. Users will also be able to control music and locate a misplaced handset. It also relies on quartz batteries meaning you’ll never have to recharge it.
Emporio Armani’s smartwatches are priced roughly the same as most smartwatches in the market today, so depending on the model you pick, it could range from $250 to $400. If this sounds reasonable to you, then head on over to its website where you’ll be able to purchase one for yourself.
