Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has become the first game to support HDR on the PlayStation 4. Sony’s console recently received the ability to support HDR games but so far no titles have taken advantage of that ability until today. A new patch has been released for this game today which enables it to run in HDR mode on the PlayStation 4. It can also do that on the Xbox One S.
Sony recently announced a couple of updated PlayStation 4 models and also confirmed that it’s going to bring HDR compatibility to existing consoles via a software update. It later released firmware update version 4.0 for all PS4 consoles to add HDR support.
This means that all PS4s can now run HDR games. The only caveat being that console owners require an HDR-compatible TV to take full advantage of the picture improvements that High Dynamic Range offers, otherwise they won’t notice the difference on a TV that doesn’t support HDR.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided update version 1.05 has been released today with HDR support for PlayStation 4. The new patch also brings several important bug fixes and overall improvements. It includes new Breach content as well such as new skins and weapons, avatar customization, the Overworld map as well as new maps and Darknet file.
