BlackBerry may not be making its own smartphones anymore but the company is sticking around in the handset market by teaming up with third-party manufacturers. It recently launched a new high-end handset called the DTEK60, and while many might take the company’s claim with a grain of salt, BlackBerry says the DTEK60 is capable of going head to head against the Google Pixel XL and the iPhone 7.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 does have flagship-level specifications. It features a metal and glass build, is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm coupled with 4GB of RAM and touts a 5.5 inch Quad HD display.

BlackBerry COO Marty Beard has said in a video interview that the DTEK60 can go head to head against rival 5.5 inch handsets like the Pixel XL and iPhone 7 Plus. He also pointed out that it’s $200 cheaper than those handsets at $499 unlocked and off-contract. Beard touted BlackBerry’s own software as well that’s integrated into Android to make this an “incredibly secure phone.” He also said that the DTEK60 provides better battery life than the iPhone 7 Plus.

Whether or not that’s enough to make customers ditch their Pixels and iPhones for BlackBerry remains to be see. There’s so much more that the Pixel XL and iPhone 7 Plus are able to do better so it’s not like they will immediately start bleeding customers to BlackBerry’s latest handset.
