One of the selling points of the GoPro would be how small it is. This means that it is light and easy to bring with you on the go, so slipping it into your pocket is not an issue. It also means that it can be attached to all kinds of things, like a body harness, or if you’re looking for more creative photos/videos, the Birdie accessory.
The Birdie was launched earlier this year on Indiegogo where it successfully raised enough funds to become a reality. The accessory is shaped like a shuttlecock and a safety cone which will allow you to toss your GoPro into the air to capture some interesting photos that would otherwise be impossible.
Some of the Birdie’s features includes how it is aerodynamic and how it can float on water, so if you drop it into a lake/pool, you don’t have to worry about diving underwater to fish out your camera. It is an interesting accessory, although admittedly it is also kind of niche since we’re sure that everyone wants/needs to capture photos this way.
Now the Birdie doesn’t actually protect your GoPro from impacts, so don’t expect to toss it off a mountain and survive the drop. However its design, and judging from the video above, will help it fall back down slightly slower so you can catch it easily. It is priced at $49 and it is expected to be available come 24th of October.
