Spotted on Best Buy’s website is a 27-inch iMac that is advertised as having an Intel Kaby Lake processor. Given that this Intel’s latest processor, it makes sense for Apple to include it in the refresh. However as pointed out by AppleInsider, there are some details that makes this listing a bit suspect.
For example the price listed is $3,200, which makes it more expensive than the current iMacs with the same configuration which is priced at $3,150 on Apple’s website. It also lists its GPU as being the AMD Radeon R9 M380, which is odd since the current iMac features an AMD Radeon R9 M395, so obviously it doesn’t make sense for Apple to move backwards.
In any case it is possible that maybe Best Buy is just using placeholder specs for its listing, hence the discrepancies. Apple is also rumored to be announcing new MacBook Pros later this month so perhaps we might get some iMac news as well, so stay tuned and check back with us at a later date for the details, if there any to be had.
